Not getting paid

    havent got paid in a month working in construction meant to get paid by the week not part of any union what do i do?

    Why be smart? It is the most logical step.

    You have not give much info on the circumstances, situation and if you have even asked the boss why you have not got paid.

    People tend to post here if they have usually exhausted all avenues to get an issue resolved. We do not know if you have or not.

    I know a few people in construction consultancies in the same position.

    Ask your boss.

    No offense meant, but that's what those of us who never had unions have to do.

    If, as in the case of the people I know, the company simply doesn't have the money to pay you....then that's a whole other problem

    But your first step is to just go and ask your boss/foreman/charge hand, whatever. No need to be confrontational about it. Just find out what the story is.

    No im not, im also in construction and its the first obvious step , since you havent told us if you have or not then its the best advice anyone can give you witht the info provided.

    Unfortunately for you it usually means your company is on the verge of collapse.

    I'd start looking elsewhere (overseas) for a job.
