Anyone seen or used one in the flesh or got any views on them ....?

Led Lenser torches are the dogs danglies.
The one you posted is pricy probably because it has "lamping" in the title.
Led Lenser's come with a lifetime guarantee, you would just have to buy a mount separate.

Honestly lads i was looking at the nd3 laser light thing for 300!!! quid, and for 55euro for this torch ya couldnt go wrong. Il post up the make of it tomorrow if its any help. 6hrs continous battery before it has to be recharged. 245lumens.

Borrowed t223's LED LenserP7 this evening. Was down at my friends house having a look at it trying see how strong it was. Shone it out the fields at the back of his house, looked good and strong, next thing there's a pair of eyes, and another

Sh!t sh!t !! Run back to the landrover, grab the 6.5 (stalking this morning), back out to the wall, quick squeak, nothing at all  Curse myself for not havin the rifle with me in the first place :( next thing I spot the 2 of them rolling around and jumping all over each other, 2 young foxes playing, about 50 yds out. Give a little yelp and they stop and look at me, BANG, another quick squeak and other one comes forward 5 yds and looks straight at me, BANG number 2 :D

2 nearly mature dog foxes in the bag ;)

I bought a LED LENSER today, old model of P7, 3 "AAA" batteries.€40
**It's not called P7 but it is the same thing, the shop has a P4,5,14 and a few older models called different names

I hope to have my rifle Lensered up this week, I'll try her on my .308 for Foxes with teh 125grain BT's

My .223 is a bit awkward for nightwork, she prefers to be fired prone

that bicycle handlebar mount that comes with it, does it fit riflescopes handy? as in 25mm and 30mm??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,590 ✭✭✭Tackleberrywho

    The Field Test.

I had to play around with the P7 a bit to get the optimum out of it.
I tried it at various distances.

I feel the optimum range is 170-200yards max.
The lightforce 170 will shine Farther, but is much bulkier and can be awkward.
The LED LENSER P7 is not noticeable on the rifle when it is slung on the shoulder.

On the whole I would have to give the LED LENSER P7 scope mounted, pressure sensor activated 10/10.
What it lacks in beam length is completely out weighed by it's functionality on a rifle.

I was using an Acme Caller for Foxes, none obliged though.

The Scope bracket will fit any scope or even a shotgun ;)

Cool, it seems one will have to be ordered.
I have the same problem with my 140 as Clive with his 170, the git of a thing twists a bit when u climb over fences or leave it in the back seat or whatever.

Yep, the LED LENSER is a cool tool alright, It just about lears my scope 56mm NF, I would not think it would work on a Zeiss Divari 6-24x72* :D

Well It'll only have to shine over my 6.5-20x40!.. I dont think it'll have too much bother!

i was in the shop today and the lad behind the till was sayin he is hearin alot of lads givin out about the lenght of the wire on the pressure switch not bein long enough, how did you find it tack? I dont have the kit and was put off gettin it because of this. stick with me button on the back!

is the p7 rechargeable? cant see any charger in photos, do you just buy batteries then? if so how long does it last?

I think he was takling ring, You could have the pressure switch on teh foreend or the hand grip.

    Perfect length.
The more rope ya give a lad.........

By any chance had he only a standard torch in stock? :D

And you also get a standard end in the kit so you don't need to use teh pressure switch if you don't want to ;)

3xAAA batteries, it will take rechargeable batteries or Alkaline batteries.
    I think it's 20hours light output

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 196 ✭✭kenneths

i thought it said 120hrs burning time (whatever that means)

now i tried out my cheapo led lenser L7 last night went out at the bunnies with a .22lr.
the light was good and tight but only out to 120 metres as i looked at cattle at 200 metres and all you would make out are the eyes so there would be no guarantee of your intended quarry.

at under 100 metres it would be fine on the bunnies.
but with the P7 with scope mounts like tac has on the way i will just use the L7 for climbing the ditches (but still a good buy for €20 IMO)

its not recommended to use rechargeable batteries in a p7, its bad for the bulb

Put new batteries ( took 4 AAA not 3 tack ? ) in t223's P7 I have at the mo, made big difference. Picked out eyes over 200 this evening, could idientify it as a fox at bout 150, dead fox at 149 :D

I've shot 7 foxes in last 3 days using it, so tidy and compact and light !! Would like to get the p14 but they dont do a remote switch for it, think I'll get the set tackleberry got :)
