Hello all, have a problem with the work van at the minute, its a 06 Opel Combo. The heads are working fine in it but the dips are very weak, not totally gone but not giving out light with any intensity at all.

Just wondering what it could be and is there much of a fix involved for someone who'd give it a go but is never generally at his best under the bonnet of a vehicle?

Other than tired bulbs, it could be a contact problem.

Old, partially corroded wires and connectors do swallow quite a few volts between battery/alternator and bulb. Might be worth your while to clean up the connectors around the lamp and possible the earth point too, if you can find it.

Then fit new bulbs and get the light properly focussed.

i wonder if what you are seeing is in fact the parking lights and both dip bulbs have blown or the relevent fuses...
