Hey I applied for the dole on the 16th November, woman told me it would take 3months!

I've no money for christmas and its depressing!

Why does it take so long ??? surely they should have a faster process for dealing with applications.

    Whats my options ?

Go to your CWO they should give you money to live on while you wait for your dole.

If you contact your local health centre and find out when the CWO is available, you can go down and take a ticket and queue to see him. You explain your situation and bring your usual documents like photo ID etc. and he should give you the equivelant to what your DOLE would be. He will give it to you in cash on the day but you will be able to collect it from the post office the following week with your social welfare card. If you don't have one, he will give you a temporary one while you order one from your local social welfare office.

Nobody has to wait for any amount of time for their Dole if they really need it. Just go to your local health centre and arrange for the welfare officer to pay you until the Social Welfare process your claim.
