Wetting myself scanning tomorrows card. Haven't digged in yet but the moving of the Tingls Creek in someways seems worth it now. Christmas has come early for racing fans tomorrow.

    Overview of the cards

I don't think I'll be touching the International hurdle...too difficult to call but Menorah should be favorite. He looks special and hasn't put a foot wrong at Cheltenham.

As for the Tingle Creek, I have NRNB on Somersby for the Queen Mother so in effect I have plenty riding on him already.

    Any one got early opinions?

Apart from the major festivals this is as good a card as I've seen in a while. Unfortunately I've family commitments tomorrow so won't see any of it live. Really looking forward to seeing Cue Card but on purely percentage terms he's an awful price.

Sick card alright, laying Twist magic in the place market in the creek. I'd say it's owner was depressed when it was moved to Cheltenham because the horse absolutely hates it there!

International hurdle is the race I'm looking forward to most though, really high quality affair IMO. I think well see the winner of the Champion Hurdle come from here, be it Menorah or SC, Cue card is a lay in my book though.

Cue Card jolly which, to be quite frank, is ludicrous. Don't get me wrong the horse has all the promise in the world but two novice wins do not make you favourite against Menorah & what has been so far a hugely impressive Nicholls horse. I may look silly this time tomorrow but win or lose at this point those prices look seriously wrong

But is it hype or is it the Tinklers knowing how good he is? His last win was very impressive against very decent horses.

On evidence his price shouldn't what it is but I wouldn't back that opinion up with my money.

Win or lose I'll be having a few quid on Menorah tomorrow, especially getting 4lbs from Silviniaco Conti. Cue Card has all the promise in the world but 2 novice wins does;t make him favourite to win this IMO. I could be wrong of course but at the current prices I'm more than willing to take that chance

Hopefully someone other than Coral will chalk up 9/4 tomorrow. Cue Card could be the next big thing but is a percentage lay tomorrow

Despite backing against him I half hope Cue Card does win impressively to keep the dream alive that he is the next huge thing

EDIT: Hobbs also running a stable mate who is surely in just to make it a strong pace for Menorah. 9/4 is a big price

A Media Luz has been talked up as a potential top notch juvenile and runs tomorrow in a hot race, getting a stone from Sam Winner and Pantxoa. Sam winner is odds on but Alan King's horse looks a big price

I've already a free bet on A Media Luz to win the Triumph so hopefully she can run well or even win for purely selfish reasons ;)

they will all need a strong pace tomorrow to perform to their peak. The lack of pace would tip the race in favour of Cue Card IMO. But a strong pace wouldn't inconvenience any of them.

Like I said I would have my free bet fiver on Menorah but I'll watch it and enjoy it as a race and not a bet. Good luck with Menorah.

I dont think tomorrows race will suit Menorah.
Seems to be at his best in a big field with a breakneck gallop.

I've had a 2 minute look over the Cheltenham card. Gonna pick out a few and see how they get on.
11.40 Oh Crick each way 8/1
I really hope Chicago Grey goes well in the novice chase, had him backed before he fell last time out. I think the whole of Boylesports did too on Eyre Square, huge shop. Haven't heard so many people let down since Kauto fell in the GC. Favourite won a nice novice chase at the track last time though.
1.20 Quartz de Thaix each way at 9/1 is a huge improver and a lot of the market leaders look to be going backward.
Can't ignore evens on Master Minded.
    2.30 e/w on Calgary Bay.
Assuming 9 go i'd go each way on Clerks Choice in the international at 14/1 and abstain from the last race. Probably won't do any bets tomorrow but just some picks to watch them.

Watch your master minded bets. Twist Magic hasn't been withdrawn yet so you'll be facing a R4

Won't be able to have a bet today unfortunately. Menorah surely a good thing so!

    Haha.

Its a very interesting race, not a backing proposition though for me.

Master Minded/Time For Rupert double will do me for the day.

Just backed Menorah at 11/4 with the Ladbrokes around the corner before I head off.

Can't believe Menorah is that big. Anyone who wants to watch it,free view racing up til 1 o'clock channel 432

Double penalty on Menorah then Colonel! 11/4 looks big...I'm tempted but then again I'm wary of the price

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

utter class from Menorah. For a moment 2f out he looked in trouble but class won out. Decent performance from Cue Card, will be hard to beat back in novice company.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,838 ✭✭✭Nulty

Ugh, i put a fiver on Silviniaco....4lbs made it tough.

Menorah was great though. Difficult to oppose in the Champion. Cue Card was travelling like anything and didn't find. hes got more progressing to do though

I had a 20e treble on masterminded, menorah and teaforthree. I was nearly going out tonight.

Just backed Menorah at 11/4 with the Ladbrokes around the corner before I head off.

Backed it at 11/4, went out to check had my lift arrived. It hadn't. Went back in to watch the next race and it was 3/1

Just watched the replays, Menorah was very impressive and can only improve with the helter skelter pace of a usual champion hurdle. Niceen Creed tried to make a really strong gallop but seemed to be ignored. Cur Card ran a blinder considering he's a 4 year old novice having only his 5th life time start. Seems like he could learn to settle a little better too so again a big field Supreme may well be ideal for him and (yes I remember Dunguib!!!) could be banker material in the opener

I was very impressed with Time For Rupert again yesterday.
His jumping is very good and I think he is gona have a good shout come march.

A horse called Mossy Joe won the 12.50 at limerick today and looked very good aswell.
His trainer came on atr and said he is going to go chasing with him soon.

One that caught my eye was sunnyhillboy yesterday
could be one to watch in one of the big handicaps in march

MasterMinded looks a different animal since his wind operation.

Menorah looks the game type that will keep finding a bit extra when needed.

Cue Card maybe sulked a bit with the strangulation it got until the final 3 furlongs and I wouldn't write it off just yet.
