Patent shoes - ouch!

I have a pair of fantastic cool shoes with a heel (Killah). Unfortunately I can't wear them!! The toe part of the shoe is patent and as hard as this winter!! I've worn them with 2 pairs of socks, sprayed them inside with leather softner bought in Clarks, worn them for 10 mins every day...anything to soften the patent but…

I've worn them only once and suffered. Every time I open the wardrobe they look at me longingly and I send back the same look of longing. I want to show them off to the world but need to soften the patent first.
Any tried and tested solutions???
