    Hi,

I have Apple Care on my iPhone 32gb 3GS. I was told when I got it I'd be guaranteed a brand new phone each time I need a replacement.

I was just wondering, if I replaced it now, would I get an iPhone 4 seeing as they aren't making the 32gb iPhones 3GS's anymore?

    Thanks.

I'd imagine Apple keep a certain amount of stock for those situations. In saying that, I could be wrong.. but I doubt it.

I don't know who would tell you that. Apple's policy is to replace with refurbished, like for like. They were still replacing 3 G for people with 3G until recently, never mind 3Gs. Someone on here got a 32Gb 3Gs replaced only last week.

When you say "Used this", do you mean the phone needed repair? Or is it a case of just wanted a new one?

I have used Apple Care lots of times on ipods and iphones and have always gotten a 'new' replacement. However, I have never managed to get a free upgrade out of this . . I think they keep more than enough stock to cover their needs. .

Apple returns can be new or "as new" which basically means an old inner bit in a new shell. Its guaranteed the same as a brand new item.

They have plenty of iPhones available to replace like for like. They have enough until the iPhone 3GS is out of its life band i.e. 1 year from the latest model sold and then some.

Also remember the 3GS is still made, its just available in 8GB models. And there isn't anything to say Apple just make a few large capacity's for repairs etc.

    Thanks for all the replies.

I used it twice for repair and once because there was scratch on it.
