I don't see a thread on this anywhere, strange cos I thought it was pretty good. Very similar in tone to Despicable Me (which is also missing a thread for some reason).

Anyway, highly enjoyable for an animated flick, Will Ferrell without falling back on his same old done-to-death gags but plenty of LOL moments :D

    Anyone else seen it?

Has anyone else seen this and if so would they recommend it. I enjoyed the incredibles and I believe this is along the same lines. I am an adult by the way so I don't want to go to a kids orientated film. If this is crap would you recommend a film now showing at the cinema that is worth going to?

i went to see this because there was nothing else on (i think the alternative was that ninja/western thats doing the rounds lately)

was pleasently suprised at how good it was.

dont know if its up there with the incredibles but its got a great sardonic witt and if you know your superheros theres some great "cameos" and had some good twists on the conventional themes.

    :)

im an adult had no probs with it at all. in fact some of the stuff in it would seem to speak more to adults than kids.

    you could do worse mate.

went to see it in 2D as i couldnt be arsed with the glasses.

How many kids would have gotten the "Space Daddy" nod?

Again pleasently surprised with the 3D...
The sense of depth, in some shots, was amazing. Never mind the complete gimmick of having things jump out of the screen.
There were times in this where you really did feel that you could look around characters in the fore, to follow action moving behind their back

i couldnt stop smiling when i realised who that was meant to be

    :):):)

the other thing i like is how the whole second half of the film isnt referenced AT ALL in the trailers.

rare that the storyline isnt completly given away in the ads now.

I haven't seen many of these types of animated movies, but Megamind has made me wanna check more of them out. Really funny film and like it was said above, the second half of it really isn't given away in the trailer!

I saw (most) of Megamind before i left to go see Tron in another screen, i was bursting me hole laughing!, i was the ONLY one doinf so in the cinema, it had alot of parents with very young kids....and they were all quite as mice!, no one was laughing expect me.

I got all the nods and parodies, great little film, brilliant voice casting, the CGI was very well done, i saw the 2D version. I might go see the 3D one and see the end...but i've a fair idea how it would end, recomended for adults!

brilliant parody/pisstake on Marlon Brando from Superman

I also LOVED Megaminds utter SHOCK when he
    kills Metroman...haha!
    :D

Really enjoyed it, it's not as good as the incredibles but it is very funny.
Went to see it in 3d and didn't think it really used it that much, would have been just as good in 2d.

Recommended. 3D was pointless (unsurprisingly). Go see it in 2D.
... before i left to go see Tron in another screen...

    A mistake, surely...

Yes, Tron was just visual eye candy, but Megamind entertained.....i'll go see it again and see the end :)

Hmm, I kinda enjoyed it for what it was but was still left a little cold by it. Somehow felt like a missed opportunity, but I can't really pinpoint how.

I enjoyed it very much, but as others have touched upon - it really is more of an adults film. Not that it's rude or crude, far from it, but most of the really funny jokes went over the kids' heads. I had my daughter (10) and her cousin (11) and there were a couple of occasions when they were looking at me wondering why I was laughing cos the joke went over their heads.

aidan made a fair point, I watched it last night and well, it was if there was something missing, about halfway to three quarters way it kind of coasts for a while and you disengage and start thinking about how long is left, recovered and finished well however not sure that if MJ was around would he allow his song to be used like that at the end.
Quality of animation was super however and as a visuals fan I really liked that aspect of the film.
