I'm considering downgrading to the minimum cover..from We Plan level 2, is there amything I should be wary of in doing this?...The recession is biting, I cannot afford the premium. May eventually need to leave it completely but firstly maybe downgrade my plan

The best thing to do is go onto www.hia.ie and check alternative plans and compare the differences, it's a brilliant site - you might be able to switch to an alternative provider for less money, or switch to a plan that provides similar cover but comes with an excess. The only thing to consider is, if you downgrade, eventually when you might want to upgrade again, you'll have to overcome a certain waiting period for the upgrade - I think it's something like 2 years for pre-existing conditions for most plans.

hi. I am on level 2 hospital plan with Aviva health irl. I downgraded whilst still on level 2 hospital plan which renews tomorrow. now I want to buy a plan which is lower in price than the level 2 one. so im wondering would that be an upgrade but I don't think it is as I am not on the lower policy until tomorrow or more precisely tonight at midnight.. its confusing I know but possible.. cheers kevin..
