After having a series of noise issues with my 06 S40 2.0D (thanks to anyone who advised) I brought it to get checked out and it turns out the DMF needs replacing. I originally thought the noise was coming from the release bearing and had that, along with the clutch, replaced. However the noise only got worse if anything and I brought it to another garage yesterday and they informed me it was the DMF, which the original garage obviously never checked!

I've been driving with the noise for about 3 months now and was wondering how long will it last? Was also wondering how much replacing it will set me back? I'm assuming 1k+?

    Thanks guys!
