    Hi all,
am looking at panasonics in either 42 or 50, but am confused by choices, x, s or v. good price being offered on a v20l in local HN, but I am using a Edesion combi box at the moment, but my wife would like to go back to sky. 100Hz vs 600Hz? Have had nearly ten years from 32 sony 100Hz crt and still ok. Am afraid of buying something that is about to be phased out or dumping stock, and am also thinking about the fuel efficient 46 sony 713. anyone any useful comments please.

just got a panasonic 50v20 myself - unbelievable picture quality. i had an older panasonic and its a great improvement. i prefer plasma to lcd/led models for colour, movement & black levels. yeah its not as energy efficient as an led but so what - the picture is far better

Can't go wrong with the V. I have a 2 year old PZ50" and it's one of the best things I have ever bought. I wouldn't worry about obsolescence, just go for it.

    Don't be.

Nealy every electronic item will be obsolete within 12 months of purchase as new models come along.

Even if the TV you buy is replaced the following week with a new model, so what? You will still be able to enjoy a superb viewing experience for many, many years and any differences between the old and new model will, given the state of the technology at this stage, invariably be merely cosmetic or imperceptible to all except technology geeks.

I don't think you can go wrong in choosing a TV from any of the big brand manufacturers. I'm not qualified to comment on the technicalities other than learning from somone who knows about such things that 600Hz confers no advantages whatsoever and is mere marketing puff.

    Regards,
