    Alrite lads,

I have a massey ferguson 575 I've been tryin to sell. The tractor is worth 6,000euro and having a hard time to sell it. I was planing on setting up a draw to sell 50 tickets for 100euro. Would this be possible? Is there any laws I need to look into?? Thanks in advance.

    my god!!

if i remember rightly someone tried to do this before (with a house) and was told they would need a licence because it is technically a raffle, if you dont sell all the tickets then what would you do?
everything will sell at the right price, have you got prices online to compare your price to other examples for sale??

    look at my location aswell:)
im not from cork but that is an insane reply!

well what do you expect when being called an edit. i did nothing wrong, said nothing to offend anyone just tryin to sell my tractor, tough times I hav enough to put up with. thank you for your reply and help, sorry for offending the rest of you cork people.peace

No can do - legally anyway. Selling raffle tickets is essentially a lottery and all lotteries have to be licenced by the Gardai as per the Gaming & Lotteries Act. Lotteries for personal gain aren't allowed.

That. And you are from Cork :D

Jesus take it easy, there's a report post button rather than insults.

Like said, you need a license. Also there's the risk that you don't sell all the tickets but still have to do the draw. You may only have 20 sold but still need to do the draw meaning a big loss!

You know it's not unusual for the people running the raffle to actually win the first prize :p:p

    http://www.donedeal.ie/find/tractors/for-sale/Ireland/575?source=all

Quick search shows them on Donedeal for €3800 to €4500
I'd say that at €6K it's well overpriced, unless it's 4WD but even then it would be overpriced...

Anything for sale is only worth what others are willing to pay for it, either hold out for the jackpot or start reducing the price until it sells.... times are tough

Can you imagine, trying to sell €100 tickets for a used tractor, condition unknown?

    Should be fun watching that.

And, if it was "worth" €6,000 it would have sold by now.

mr.spids banned for a week for personal insults & txt spk.

mr.spids, when you get back read the Charter thoroughly. If you get another ban in the near future it will be for considerably longer.
