    Just a quick question there!
If you nct a car in 2005 and it expired in 2007 but during this period the car was taken off the road and put into storage until now and you wanted to do an NCT would you have to cover 2007 to 2009 or would the just NCT it for this period?

Short answer is no, it doesnt have to be covered/tested for the period when it was off the road, but will have to be done before being put back on the road. It is done on the anniversary of its first registration, so no harm not to have it tested, say 3 months or less before its usual due date, as it will have to be done then anyway. Better wait if possible and get the full 2 years out of it. Hope this helps.
