MX-5 Sound system upgrade?

    Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade or add to the sound system in my 2002 MX-5. I currently have one CD player and radio, the standard (but fairly good sounding) setup which came with the car.

Firstly, I don't want to spend a fortune - less than 100 or 150 if possible. Would love to have a CD changer but that's negotiable. The main reason I want to upgrade is I need some way of playing mp3's - a FM transmitter would do the job but I don't find them great to use when driving. You end up having to fiddle with the bloody thing when it looses a signal (though perhaps the one I used to have was a cheap one).

What choices do I have? Is it likely that there is a line-in somewhere at the back of the console? What can I do to give me the setup I need with minimal disruption and minimal cost?

    Thanks!!

You're better off asking someone in an MX-5 owners club.

    Try here:

In the RX-8 it's neccessary to get a seperate module to connect up an ipod or any mp3 player. I just use the 6CD changer. Can't be bothered fitting any modules as I don't even own an iPod :D
