Social Welfare: People who need to sign on will be excused if they can't make it

Just called my local social welfare office in Dunlaoighre to ask if they were closed today.

The guy told me that anyone who can't make it today due to the weather will be automatically excused. The next sign-on day is February.

Don't know if it's the same for other parts of the country.

Can anyone else confirm this as true?
