Ok folks, have a conundrum. The missus is looking for Christmas pressie idea’s for me. I already have new irons, driver, bag, shoes clothes misc this year. – the only thing I haven’t invested in is a decent putter. Here’s the problem – I would love a Nike method or a Scotty Cameron or 2-ball Odd but I’m afraid that it will end up in the shed. I have a cheap Wilson kit dc prostaff putter(worth about 20 euros) and I have been putting really well with it lately. I bought another inexpensive Wilson and its in the shed because my old one is treating me well at the moment. Pros/cons please on getting a new one? I want to decide today if its worth a new one or not…..

If it's not broke don't try to fix it, especially when it comes to putters.
Get yourself a really good pair of shoes for the winter instead:D

A Scotty is not just for Christmas.... Its for life!!!

And whats wrong with having a few putters, expensive or not. I have never sold any of my putters. I always mess around with them and switch the one I use from time to time.

Inclined to go wit the "if it aint broke don't fix it" idea myself - especially with a putter. Was thinking of upgrading my own this winter simply cos it'd gotten a little worn looking. Pal I play with regularly convinced me I was mad and that I was putting well so I just got the old one regripped and I'm delighted with it... plus, ended up spending €12 instead of probably €100! :pac:

    Excellent advice,

Don't forget Jim Furyk won the Fed Ex using a putter he picked up in a shop for $25

Unless of course you have every other item you need and don't mind potentially having an expensive ornament in the garage :D, in that case get a Scotty Newport 2

In this country you can never have enough rain gear. A second set is always good to have.

If it was me I would look for green fees on a course that you have always wanted to play..... My wife refuses to buy any golf related pressies though as "I spend too much time either watching or playing that damn game"
