My girlfriend smashed the screen on my iPhone 4 this weekend :( We were told to try fonemenders to replace the glass. We're based in Galway, so I was just wondering has anybody used these guys before and also has anybody done so through their registered post service? What kind of price range are we looking at and is there anywhere else that I could try?

Heard it can be expensive...if you have some bit of tech knowledge it's probably a hell of a lot cheaper to buy the screen on ebay and fit it yourself.
I think Apple charge about €220 to replace the front screen (not the lcd but the glass that's over it).
Whereas it's about €90 to buy the screen and fit it yourself..
loads of videos on youtube about it..one of the mates did his already and it was a piece of cake..and he wouldn't be a techy guy :)

link below for price guide..some sites on ebay do fitting as well..think there's a place in cork as well.

So this would be a complete replacement of the glass and touch screen?

Is this the same thing? Much cheaper too!

Careful with fonemenders. Apple are on record saying they're not authorised to repair so if they open it it might void tour manufactures warranty.

Found this video...seems like a fair bit of work, it'd be fairly tough to get everything back in it's right place!
