Hi, once the brake wear sensor light comes on, do the brake wear sensors need to be replaced? or can they be reused?

Once you have a light on the dash the sensor needs replacing. The warning light is triggered by the wire in the sensor being worn through by the rotor.

It all depends! Have you checked the pads? Is the sensor touching the disk? How long has it been coming on for?

If the light hasn't been on too long you could re-use it, but I wouldn't bother. I think they are about €10, best replace it with the pads.

The sensors do go over time, I've replaced atleast 2 of them where the pads didn't need to be changed.

You will get away without replacing it if you can remove it from the old pad in one piece but for the sake of a few euro, it might be better to replace it. Depending on how much was ground off by the discs, the sensor may be useless anyway.

If light is on, the sensor has to be changed without exception, As Stevie Dakota said, the sensor triggers the light when it has worn through to the wires. Even if you fit new pads the sensor has still be worn through and the light will stay on.
