So I'm considering changing my current shafts on expert recommendation, to stiffer, lighter, longer ones. My current set are 2yrs in the bag, played about 100 or so rounds and are MX200's. would it be worth considering changing the heads as well and keeping or trading the old set, I like the look of the new MP53's?

Very expensive to completely reshaft and regrip with a full new set of shafts.

Definitely take a look at going for a new set with a custom fit to make sure these are set up right for you.

Not sure what price differential will be but definitely worth the comparison - plus you'rell be getting the latest and greatest new technology.

Still trying to see if there the one's.. Hag ping i 3 blade and was recommened cleveland cg7 black peril and had a taylormade r7 superquad driver and recommened a cleveland driver which i do hit alot better and love... what you play off and how is your game at the moment weather permitting...

On a min three month golf layoff. Got measured a couple of weeks ago and was hitting them well and was playing better than Hcap, also had a few lessons as well. But due to winter rules haven't been reducing the hcap. Playing hcap now is 18, but I guess its more like 15. Have submitted a few good scores for review, played in society golf so maybe I'll lose a shot in at the annual review.
So should I order mods or new irons, I won't see or use them until March. The new shafts are costing nearly 300 as it is so it would be another 300-400 I guess to change all.

why try fix something thats not broken?

You're clearly getting on with your current clubs and handicap heading in the right direction.

The shaft change is for a little more shaft stability. Was a little crouched addressing the ball with standard lenght, tried a longer +1/2 and the differance was almost instant in my sideways spread.
