Use the existing esb wiring in the house as a network cable

was looking at that actually seams like the only option really!

does anyone know if the netgear XETB1001 would be powerful enough to run COD online?

Get a wifi repeater and place it somewhere between you ps3 and the router, when he's 2 floor up is there a hall or something you could place it in. even having it in a better place in you room/flat would help.

prob should have mentioned im already using a repeater to get the 17% signal the ps3 is at the window but the signal has to come through 2 floors even with the repeater.
i was wondering was there any usb connection that would do it!

The PS3 itself won't take any USB network connection, you'll need to use Ethernet to what ever you use but if more repeaters is out when you're using them already then the only choice is wired with cat5/6 or over the power lines and you'd need to know how the place is wire and maybe test it out before buying.

there are some very powerful wifi boosters but most are usb, wire over the power lines may be the cheapest.

I use a Netgear WGE111 Game Console Adaptor plugged into the network ethernet port on my PS3. Works perfectly.

It just needs to be configured connected to your laptop/desktop first to configure with your wifi password.

    I got mine from eBay.
