Sky HD Box Magic Eye Question

I have ran a feed into another room and to get the best picture I took off the wall faceplates for the coax, pulled the cable though then used proper connectors to join the cable, three joins in total over 30m. I can get the power to the magic eye (its an SLi) half way then it drops over the last join.
Is my problem the length and can I install a down convertor or something top help the power over coax ? ( i have this from an old mmds connection)

I also have the option of using scart from the sky box to the second room as I put in a 30metre gold cable when the house was being built however for this I would need 2 x female to male scart leads to join on both ends (the coax pic is excellent mind you), have I any other options to change the channel fomr the second room ?

A sky techy once suggested to wire a nine volt battery to the cable to continue the trigger mode. Just a thought.

Are you sure there's not a short in the last section of cable?

I'd say its a short too, i've had eyes working over 30 meters before.
You can get dc power inserters http://www.satellitesuperstore.com/accessories2.htm

Or easier option , try a powermid +

I had another look and the eye wil power up after about 10mtrs , there is no other connection for about 20mtrs after which its gone, The coax run may be on the same run as the power supply to the room could there be some interferance form the electricity cables ?

After you get it working at 10m and move it back to the room, go back to the sky box and disable and re enable the power. See if that helps.

from the origional post , I have a 30m Scart lead that is just a bit short on both ends, basically I see this room becoming the main room and i wouldnt mind getting the 42" into it. The Coax run just dosent do it on the 42" and picture is not 100%.
Will there be any loss of signal if I put in 1 of these at each end of the scart to get them running from box to TV. (I will need to extend on both sides)

The powermid + should solve my other probelm with the remote as I could use that in other rooms also, thanks

It might be easier to run the coax to the second room but in the room its in there is a coax running to every room in the house and some scarts to others.

Try one of these http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/AD008.html at the television end with another scart, then another, with the devise you mentioned at the source.
Its an inexpensive workaround if it does work well.
