The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

    Hey guys,

I'm going to start watching every movie I haven't seen on IMDb Top 250 and the 1st one I've came to is The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

As it's the final part of a trilogy, would I need to watch the first two to get it or does it work as a stand-alone film?

    Cheers!

No, because in many ways its a prequel to the previous two films. It works fine as a stand alone film.

Deinitely works as a stand alone film, it's a trilogy more to do with the style of the films, there's no plot lines or character arcs carried through all three. You could easily argue that Clint isn't even playing the same character in the films just the same type of character. Watcch the other two though, A Few Dollars More is nearly as god as The Good The Bad and The Ugly.

You can watch this film on it's own without seeing the other 2. The production and quality of this film is far higher than the other 2 but they're still fantastic films.

Been trying to get the GF to watch this film but 2 1/2 hours is too long for her attention span...............let alone the 3 hour extended version :pac: She sleeps through everything!

It is set a few years before A Fistful Of Dollars, so is really part one of a loose trilogy.

Going by interviews from Clint, his character is meant to be the same character in all three films, and in The Good , The Bad, And The Ugly he is seen getting certain items that his character still has in the first two films.

It works great as a stand alone film though, and works even better on Blu Ray with the full length version than it does on dvd.

Which actually reminds me. Does anyone here want the film on blu ray? I have it twice, as I had gotten the film on blu ray myself, and then someone bought me the trilogy boxset on bluray.

Will give it to the first person that replies to my post saying they want it. I don't want anything for it, and will post it to the person that gives the great film a new home.
