My clutch pedal stuck to the floor one evening after about a 10 min drive it stuck while i was reversing i did notice the pedal was barely rising and then when i stopped and tried to release it was stuck to the floor i tried flipping it back up with my foot but it just stuck again . I got a tow truck to bring it to a garage owned by a friend of a friend i gave a list of things to be fixed wich included check both the clutch slave and master cylinders anyway a day later got a call saying that the clutch itself needed replacing i said go ahead clutch was replaced along with other things requested . Two weeks later i noticed that under load in 3rd and 4th gear the clutch pedal was a little sticky i located the slave cylinder and it didnt look in good nick and was squeaking so i ordered a new slave cylinder on friday just gone due to be fitted next week thing is clutch pedal went completely tonight much the same as last time. Now heres what im thinking A was the clutch at fault in the first place B was the clutch even replaced C they checked these components thought they were working ok so replaced the clutch instead D im just paronoid, anyone had anything like this happen were u felt work a mechanic said had been carried out does not seem to have been.

How is the clutch fluid level? Some cars use the actual same fluid as the brakes. It sounds to me that it could be still a hydraulic problem or maybe it needs more bleeding.Have you a receipt for the work done? Usually when the clutch is going the biting point will be high (near the top of pedal movement)

Topped up the fluid tried pumping pedal by hand its still dead surely any half decent mechanic would check the hydraulics before doing the clutch especially as i asked for them to be checked.

You would think so, but you cant always trust garages.
