Region 2 -> 1 HELP!

    Hi there,
    I was trying to source some DVD's for my daughter for Christmas but couldn't get them here. I asked my sis in the US to try. She found them for me and sent them on but they're Region 1 - I kind of thought she'd have checked that out before buying.

    I can play them on the laptop using VLC but I wanted them for the TV as they're kind of iconic and you can't really snuggle up with the fire and the laptop when there's a few of you!

    Is there anyway of converting these movies to Region 1 {that's our one in Ireland isn't it?} so that I can play them on my DVD player hooked up to the TV. My player is a combi - DVD/Video and isn't an expensive model so I don't think I can 'programme' it with codes or anything like that.

    All help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to give them to my little one if we're not going to be able to watch them on TV.

    Cheers,

    if you type in the make & model of your dvd player with multiregion hack after it you may find a way to do it.

    eg - "Panasonic DMP-BD65 Multiregion hack"
