I am looking for a club to join in Dublin. I would only be a low junior player, so I am looking for something that is a bit of fun but keeps you fit all the same. Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Could you be a bit more specific as in which area of Dublin are you living etc?

Park Rangers is a junior club based in Phoenix Park.I have the feeling they are somewhere between Division 8 and Division 10N.That standard.

Nice bunch of lads, mostly from the country such as Clare and Galway etc.

I'd check out the Herald every Tuesday for the Dublin GAA section.
After that you could play for St Finbarrs who are Division 7 or Plunketts or Brigids in Castleknock.

Check out the sticky at the top of the forum. Lots of clubs advertising for players in that.

There are 11 Divisions in Dublin club football.I have played in Division 6 and 7 and the standard is quite good actually, particularly at 6.No shame in playing any lower by the way, everybody has their level depending on ability and how much time and commitment they can put into it.

I have refereed Div 5 too and even going up one or two divisions from 6 and 7 the standard is noticeably different though. To put it bluntly,Division 7 would be the tier 2 of junior football.

Hey, I was looking to get back playing football in Dublin in the New Year, I haven't played since I was a minor and am 26 years old now so a few years out of it, and not looking to play at any major standard.

The main thing I am looking for is a club which doesn't train on Tuesday and Thursday! My main sport is rugby, and my club trains on those days, so looking for something to complement that. Am living out in Islandbridge, but can travel to anywhere in the City Centre, West/South Dublin.

    Any recommendations much appreciated! Thanks!

Have a look at the above link. Gives a good list and location of clubs in Dublin. It may not be a full list though...
