    Hey,

would a new timing and alternator belt make any improvements on performance for a 99 diesel car?? It was well over due a new belt, about 40k mile over due!

None whatsoever !! both have nothing to do with the performance of the car.
What issues have you with the performance ?

As above but why would the timing belt be overdue by 40k? You'll really have a performance issue if it fails!
