There's this little gem of a movie.. it was straight-to-video I think, but it's called the Lost Batallion. It's absolutely superb.

I'm not sure if it's WW1 or WW2 though. Double checked, it's WW1 - apologies, but still a crackin' movie.

Not one from the last two years but from 2006, its the last new WW2 film I have watched.

Days of Glory is about soldiers from the French African Colonies who fought with the Allies during the war and is cited by former French President Jacques Chirac as the reason he rectified a situation where these men were not getting the full veterans pension in comparison to full French Citizen veterans. It is well worth a watch.

Today's equivalent of a B-movie, still it was in the bargain bin in Powercity. An interesting cast is wasted in sub-"Kellys Heroes" nonsense set in occupied Holland...

I know this is a bit of a zombie thread but I recently picked up a copy of Sergei Bondarchuk's They Fought For Their Motherland. Its an old 1975 film but the DVD I have claims to be a digitally remastered and is excellent quality, I loved the film and was delighted to see after I'd watched it that imdb gave it a good review and btw its in Russian with subtitles.
