Couple of times in the past week this happened, some lights in the house flicker and my bedside clock got reset like in a power cut but my PC and TV for example stayed on so wasn't a proper power cut.
Does this sound like could be a brown out, i.e. power sag from the ESB or more likely some electrical problem in the house. Its an old house but was rewired about 5 years ago.

Its most likely a problem outside your house given the current weather conditions. You could get a voltage recorder fitted beside your meter, which would analyse your supply for as along as its fitted. Usually left for 2 weeks to get an overall picture
