I have 4 exams, and they're very nicely spread out which is handy! First one is on monday, and I've a week then til my next 2! finish on the 17th then, can't wait to have a break!

Its been a hectic enough semester but I hope I can get good grades in these exams, to bring my average up in Summer!! :)

Best of luck to everyone, it'll be worth the hard shlog in the end, I hope:p!

5 exams, 4 this coming week :( starting on monday, and finding it really hard to study. can't get settled at all.
methods of maths physics this monday, but it should be handy enough. lecturer gave us tutorials this week, and went through exam questions. helped a bit anyway.
then analysis on wednesday all the way out in salthill. kinda regret picking that but not much i can do about it now, so just have to slog through it.

I'm in that class :)! confident with q1 and q2 (pass btw) and hoping to conquer Green's Theorem by tomorrow! Will possibly be my best result, all going well:)!

i kinda figured you were, since other IT people are :)

    fecking honours course >.<
q1 i have a bit of difficulty with for the second partial derivatives...chain rule and all that. the rest of the questions don't seem that bad. just need to learn off fourier series for even/odd functions, and do a couple exam questions before then, and i'll be set :)

Do you have Petri for that course? If so tis the one I did last year, it's not the worst! :) also Petri's great.

5 exams myself... one on Wednesday and Thursday, then 2 the following Monday (ugh) and the last on Tuesday. all bunched up together but at least I'll be finished early..

Hi all, good luck to everyone with the exams.......

I've my first on the 8th (wed) followed by one on the 10th both of which are in the Kingfisher. Last one on the 14th (tues) in Galway Bay hotel. Plenty done for them but still a bit to do so hopefully I'll be okay!!:)

I've analysis on wednesday too. kinda worried about it to be honest. there's just so much in it.
think i should be fairly ok for all the rest though. There's just never enough time before the christmas exams...

Best of luck to all, spare a thought for the second year Electronic and Computer Engineers who have, as far as I recall, 9 Christmas exams. If any of you are reading this, don't worry, it gets better :)

I hate you...stop rubbing it in

Just finished methods. went better than i thought it would. got 4 questions out of 5 done, though only our best 3 are counted.

I've two exams, one tomorrow and the other on Monday. Can't wait to be over and done with.
Best of luck to everyone for the exams

    Thank god........

1 done today and 2 to go. Have one this Friday morning so another late night looms...........

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,924 ✭✭✭✭RolandIRL

bit pissed off at analysis  we were supposed to do 4 out of 5 questions, but exam paper said to do all 5 despite the lecturer saying 4 questions. Angry email sent
other than that, it went kinda good. spoofed a bit, but hopefully passed, as long as the assignments bring me up, i think i've done good :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44 4k

Yeah, I did the analysis as well. not nice getting a shock before you even open the paper! i might go down today and ask what the story was.
If you were doing Analysis I presume you have discrete this morning, if so, besta luck.
And to everyone for all the exams like.

There's a chance it was a misprint? 4 and 5 are right beside one another :P

    g'luck people

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,924 ✭✭✭✭RolandIRL

It was a misprint. (besides, it said do all 5 questions so it wasn't a slip of the finger from 4 to 5 :P) Got an email this morning from him. normally i'd have expected the invigalator to clarify but it seems he was away. he'll take it into account when he's correcting.

got out of discrete half an hour ago. my, that was an easy paper. questions were what i expected, could have time to do the whole paper, but was too lazy, and i knew i had it passed :D
only 2 left now. mechanics later today and electricity on tuesday. should be handy enough

Exams start tomorrow :( hardly any gaps between them and I'm not set at all.
Tomorrows will be alright, and I think I can muddle through Statistics, but Zoology and Oceanography are more or less right after each other and they're worrying me. I havn't had a chance to look at Oceanography yet, and if I do, it cuts into time I can spend really memorising Zoo. I'm not optimistic.

Does anyone know when the december results come out?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 252 ✭✭meeka

Usually you get "provisional" results from each department early next semester - they're only official once you get your final results in the summer. For statistics last year they uploaded our results to blackboard sometime in January, so it'll be something like that. Some other courses put them up on a noticeboard in their departments.

2 down. 2 to go. Barely had a set of continuous assessment MCQs done by the time these started so theres severe cramming going on for the earlier stuff. So wrecked :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,239 ✭✭✭KittyeeTrix

Had the 2nd exam this morning and have the last one on Tuesday morning in Salthill.
Am so tired that I'm finding it difficult to type at this stage........(insert sleepy smiley)
Gonna spend the evening reading over answers I've prepared for Tuesday as I can't even contemplating writing my hand and elbow is that warped from writing.....

    Best of luck everyone!!

Had my second exam today. I have a feeling results day is going to be painful!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 115 ✭✭MissMiami

Anyone finished today? A couple of my friends finished last Friday, so jealous cos I've a few more left! Think a load of people are finished tomorrow so college bar will be packed! And I'll be stuck at the library for yet more cramming! :(

Last one for me tomorrow so another late night ahead. It's my toughest one yet (microbiology)...........5 Q's to do in 3 hours which is damn near impossible as there is just so much info on each topic......#
My hand hurts just thinking about it:(

    Freedom tomorrow night, cannot wait.
Mature student so a few pints in Salthill early after the exam finishes at 12.30 then home into the PJ's, warm fire and collapse on the couch probably to fall asleep during the 1st half an hour of a film:D
Prob doesn't sound terribly exciting but to me it's relaxed bliss!!

    sounds lovely, fluffly :D

final exam tomorrow for me as well. 2nd part of physics - electricity. looking over the stuff now, it doesn't help to be looking at some stuff for the first time either :o
should be harder than mechanics though since a lot of material in that was covered in maths physics last year.

    good luck to everyone :)

Whoa, 5 questions in 3 hours is tough! I had an exam where I had to do 4 questions in 3 hours and I thought that that was bad!

Best of luck in yer exams tomorrow everyone and enjoy the holidays! :)

So, has anybody else reached that point.
Where the material you're studying, that made sense last week, that you should now know, has somehow evolved into operation mindf*ck.
    Thats where I'am at.

    Argghhh.
