Hi, i'm going away on a trip this Monday i booked and paid for it when i had a job, but i completely forgot to mention it to them so i won't be able to collect my money next Tuesday, and it's too late to get to them now since i'm leaving early.
It's for a week so what should i do?

You usually have to give them notice that you're going on holiday. If I were you I'd phone them on Monday morning and hope you can get through to someone who is sympathetic.

Otherwise, you are not available for work and therefore are not entitled to the dole for these weeks.

Of course, the weather is very bad and it might prevent you from getting to the airport... or the dole office for that matter ...

Thanks for reply, i really don't mind not getting paid for the week, i'm only out of work a few weeks and had huge holiday pay worked up, what i am concerned about is having to go through the motions again of signing on again if they take me off the list, i will make my next sign on date, but is not collecting a reason to take you off the list for a week?

there shouldnt be a problem, ull just miss the weeks payment that your gone and ull be back by the following tuesday, there mite be an issue if your signing day was the week you were gone but if not then i think u should be ok

i wouldnt ring them if i were you they could unintentionally mess ur payment up and ull be in limbo-land for weeks, if payments arnt collected they are returned to dept of social welfair anyway (apart from pension books) so i see that you just missed a payment not a mayjor issue as another poster said u could be snowed in etc, im sure its bound to happen to other people

A similar scenario happened to me. Had a holiday booked before I lost my job and forgot I wouldn't be in the country to collect my payment. I just went down to my local social welfare office told them the situation, they had me fill in the standard holiday form(you're entitled to 2 weeks holiday on the dole) and the following week I had 2 payments, the normal one and the one I missed.
