Hi there, After 2 weeks of cra$p reception I bought a non brand dtt settop box from URLAN in limerick city.
Now digital reception is glorious BUT!!!!
How do I record programs I want, plus the little box I got crashed 3 times in 12 hours. NOT good!

Does anyone know if I can use my VCR for recording different dtt channels to what I'm watching etc.....

What is the make and model of the box?

I assume the receiver is a single tuner type which means you can only watch or record one channel at a time.

If all the channels are on the same MUX is it not possible to watch one and record another with a single tuner? I know this won't work with a VCR but isn't this the case?

If the receiver has only one tuner it's only possible to output one channel via scart, hdmi etc. to TV/recorder.

If the receiver has the capability to record to a USB HDD it might be possible to record a channel in the same stream if it's supported in the receivers software/hardware.

It tends to be unreliable, though it should work. I bought a dual tuner DTT stick as at least two multiplexes is definate.

Eventually it will be economical to record ALL programs on ALL channels on a rolling 7 days and pick anything in the last week to watch and then "save" it.

I think it's possible, just, with a single drive.
