Well I did Science and when I was in first year there was 3 lectures, one tutorial and a two hour lab each week for Chemistry. The workload was grand nothing too difficult but it is really important you go to your labs! Then in second year it was four lectures and a four hour lab each week. There was quite a jump in terms of the standard between first and second year but it was still manageable! Third and fourth year then it's a bit different but I can't help you there cos I dropped it after that!

Functions, limits and differentiation in Semester 1 of 1st year. 2 lecture hours a week, as well as 1 hour of Linear Algebra. 1 tutorial hour per week as well. You should be fine, as I'm returning after being out of education for years and find it ok.

Integration and data analysis in semester 2. Haven't got that far yet so can't say what thats like!

Well I did Maths for all four years and loved it! The Maths dept is really nice and it's a great course. You have to do Maths in first year it's mainly Calculus but you have to do some Data Analysis and Matrices, complex numbers and that. It's not much a jump from Leaving Cert they try to use the first semester to get everyone on an even footing. There's tutorials for Maths every week and it's really important you go to them because they're so helpful and if you're really stuck there's a Maths Support Centre that runs every day in the Arts Block. But I found over the whole four years that once I was able to do my homework - you'll probably get a Maths assignment every week but they're not too taxing - the exams were no problem!

We aren't doing linear algebra till second semester, doing 1 hour of data analysis a week & 3 lecture hours of calculus. +1 tutorial hour a week.

It's not actually that bad, the first 3 weeks or so were kinda hard and scary but it got better after that :)
