Just downloaded it there. Just waiting for some of my contacts to get it. Anybody here used it before? How is it?

Tried it in the meantime, didn't work but think that had to do with the WIFI of the hotel I'm in (think it doesn't allow VoIP). I could call with it but there was no sound after we got connected, for the moment I blame the WIFI and will try something else tmrw.
What I don't like about it is that it says it will use your normal (paid) connection if Viber doesn't work (for whatever reason). It doesn't seem to warn you when it does that or did I miss something...

Downloaded it yesterday. Works a treat. Haven't tried over 3g yet.

Tried it and liked it. I like that it works on the old iPhone 3G, even in background mode, very clever. Call quality is great, even on 3G.

If I had to make a couple of suggested improvements:

    1) It would be cool if the recent calls also showed history from the regular phone missed calls. If that was the case, there would be no need to use the built in phone dialler at all.

    2) Viber checks your phonebook to see if any of your contacts have signed up with their numbers, and places a little 'viber' icon beside them, which is great. However, it is dependent on the other person entering their number exactly as you have it in your phonebook. ie if they signed up with 087xxxxxxx and your phonebook has them as +353(87)xxxxxxxx it won't work. You'll have to edit their contact to exactly the format they entered to make it work.

Tried some different things with viber today and don't really know what to think/if it works. For me viber would be great to use when abroad but wanna make sure I'm actually using viber and not being billed for the call so tried the following:
Airplane mode, wifi on (and connected):
Could make calls and the receiver saw I was calling with viber, however no sound after connection. Receiving calls not possible, went to voicemail (using viber)
So then switched airplane mode off and wifi off, now on 3G roaming:
When making a call the receiver again saw it was viber and call was perfect.
Receiving calls however did not show viber, looked like normal call so not sure if viber was being used or called will be billed (gonna have to wait to see if any charges on my vodafone...) but again call was perfect.

So in short it seems like viber needs a gsm signal to establish a connection (I guess that's a no on the "will it work on iPod" question) and you're unable to tell if you're receiving a normal or viber call when abroad...
    -edit-
Ingore this last bit, the person who was calling me assured me it was through viber and it was, only recent calls was used and and normal call was made (not viber). Tried again later and you can tell the call comes from viber (also abroad). Call quality was ok, not great (3G connection).
