I hope the mods will forgive me for starting another thread so similar in vein, but I am interested in places around Galway city, where you can speak Irish as a normal language.

Galway sells itself as a bilingual city and many signs are as Gaeilge. this does not however necessarily mean the natives can either speak or wish to speak the language. in other words the language is largely for decorative purposes.

obvious places include Aras na nGael on Dominic Street and around the college.
garvaghans and tigh coili attract Gaeigeoiri as well.

    other businesses you know of?
