Ok can't believe I have resorted to this but as my name suggests then you know how I feel. I am a 21 year old guy who went on a date with a woman about a year younger than me at the weekend. We were getting on well until we started talking about symetrical faces, where she told me I didn't have a symetrical face as I had a chin which stuck out and a wide nose. Put it this way I was taken aback for sure, sure my nose may be abit flat but I thought my chin was ok and didn't stick out? This has upset me alot, I have attachted some images for people to see, could I get some feedback please as this is a personal issue, thanks.

Try not to take things to heart, your nose and chin look perfectly normal I think you just have taken offence where none was meant.

    No need for photos.

Look, that girl was obviously exaggerating. Nothing unusual there. Don't think too much about it. You are fine. move on I'd say, these things arn't the nicest to be saying even if they are untrue.

Nothing wrong with your nose or chin mate. Perfectly fine. Dare I be blunt, its all in your head :)

However, am I right to believe you are self-conscience?
If so, I reckon you really shouldnt talk about your facial features in conversations. Often a lot of self-conscience people will ask for reassurance. Which tends to a bad idea.

You look perfectly acceptable. As a point of interest, very few people have symmetrical faces. I've seen photos of celebs where magazines have rejigged their faces to be symmetrical,& to be honest, it's not a good look. Not ONE of the girls I know ever looks for this, ever. You obviously met a strange wan!

Sounds like she reads books about or has an interest in superstitious nonsense.. Is she interested in horoscopes or fortune telling? She may not have meant it as an insult, she may be just applying some of this nonsense as an icebreaker... in the same way that a man might "read lovelines" on a woman's hand.. I dont see a whole lot wrong with your features..

I really think you are making too much of this..

Well this woman was not very educated, because nobody on the earth has a "symmetrical face". Because we have 1 heart and that is a little to the left, our whole bodies left/right are slightly different on either side as a result.

News flash, we do not have mirror image left or right side of our bodies.

Do you ever see those photos which take the left side of your face and then take the right side of your face and your face looks different because it is not symmetrical? Not even Brad Pitt has a symmetrical face.

Everybodies, hands, legs, feet, ears, eyes etc are slightly different between the left and right side. Ears and eyes are at slightly different height etc.

Your nose and chin are fine. If anything for this woman to slag you off obviously has her own self confidence issues. Id just ignore it and go on a date with someone else. Plenty of nicer women out there who are not so self obsessed with putting other people down.

OP, you should seriously consider going to your GP about your image obsession, it's not healthy and it's wrong. You shouldn't be thinking like this.

She clearly doesn't understand the meaning of 'symmetry'. Symmetrical means if you cut the face in half down the middle, the left side is identical to the right side.

A 'wide nose' (or a 'chin that sticks out') are symmetrical. They'd just be asymmetrical (not symmetrical) if, for instance, your nose was wide on one side and narrow on the other.

So, don't go on dates with stupid people, and by god, don't take what they say to heart!

I can't imagine that she meant to hurt your feelings?

Did she actually akin symmetry to being good looking? Some of the most beautiful people in the world have imperfect features..

BTW your nose and chin look fine, lovely even :)

I am not sure you understand what is mean by symmetry, tbh. It has nothing to do with superstition at all.

OP, firstly, I doubt she meant it as an insult, especially seeing as, as cafecolour pointed out, she herself doesn't really seem to understand what it means.

Virtually nobody has a perfectly symmetrical face. You are reading far too much into it and really being overly sensitive about the whole thing.

i didn't look at the pictures. do you know why? because it doesn't make a difference weather she is telling the truth or not. because you are the way you are. more than likely one of her boobs is bigger than than the other.

just get over it, she's a b1tch. take pride in who you are.

There is a thin line between innocent vanity and narcissism. You really need to evaluate if you have crossed that line, OP.

You cna talk about this with out the picutres, the personal issues for is not notornot.com.

Sounds like you spent the evening with a rude and immature person.
Chalk it up to an experience and move on.

Ehhh... Where exactly did the woman "slag your appearance"? She said you "had a chin which stuck out and a wide nose". Did she say that made you ugly? Did she say she found you unattractive because of that?

I don't see why she is getting so much criticism here, she doesn't seem to have said anything insulting
