    Monday
New York Jets at New England Patriots:
This promises to be the game of the week, both teams 9-2 and both 5-0 away. QB Brady (66%) has a better completion rate than Sanchez (55%), but the Jets D gives up fewer average yards per game (Jets 296.9 and Pats 399.1). Too bad this game cannot be played on a neutral field, because the home field advantage favours the Pats for this game. Most sports casters are predicting a Pats win, but I'm going with the Jets for an unexpected win (and our former USC Trojan QB Sanchez ;)).

How do you play with a broken foot?

Going to affect his scrambling ability hopefully :)
Roethlisberger's foot broken, said he 'fully expects' to play Sunday
    Thursday, December 02, 2010

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger runs for a first down against the the Bills last Sunday. He injured his foot in the game, which now is said to be broken.
Turns out the "sprained" right foot of Steelers quarterback Ben Roehlisberger actually is broken.

The fifth metatarsal bone or the outside metatarsal on Roethlisberger's right foot is broken, the Post-Gazette has learned. It was injured during the first quarter of Sunday's game in Buffalo.

The Steelers have been listing the foot as sprained.

Roethlisberger went through another practice today and has said he fully expects to play in Baltimore this Sunday night. Offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said after practice that Roethlisberger's injury should not curtail anything he does on the field in Baltimore.

I suppose I'm contradicting myself now but this reminds of Byron Leftwich at Marshall

Due respect to him and his offensive line

The SNF & MNF games should be crackers and look like going a long way towards deciding the 1, 2, 5 and 6 seeds in the AFC. I'll go for the Ravens and Patriots to win, partly because of home advantage but also I think they are the more consistent teams at this stage. The Cowboys @ Indy will be a very interesting game, a nice test of the Colts credentials after 2 defeats on the bounce. A home win for Tampa against Atlanta would really throw the whole NFC wide open, although I fancy the Falcons to get the win. If they get the #1 seed then they look a good bet for a Superbowl appearance given Matt Ryans record at home (19-1 IIRC)

Although the Steelers are claiming a sprain, elsewhere it was reported that Big Ben broke his fifth metatarsal, which is the bone that runs from the midfoot to the base of small toe. If broken, there are 3 types of common fractures, one requires a cast, a second requires crutches, and the third requires surgery.

So if he was practicing this week, odds are it was not a break, rather a sprain of some sort.

Just saw Roethlisberger being interviewed on SportsCenter on ESPN, claims the Steelers Doctors have come up with a special cleat that he can use that is designed to support the foot, Hard to know what exatly the extent of the injury is but he looked fairly restricted in the practice footage they showed...Reckon he will fight through it though, same breath I dropped him from my Fantasy team so go figure...

Big Ben's injury is one of the reasons I am going with the Ravens for a win over the Steelers.

Yeah, went with Vick instead this week, so fingers crossed for tonight, Should have a big game considering the Texans currently rank 2nd last in D against the pass...:)

Ah balls i missed the start! Reckon Vick is gonna run riot tonight!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Too easy at the moment for the Eagles. Fcuk all pressure and too much space.

EDIT: Touchdown Eagles. Holy crap. Zero coverage allowing McCoy in. A rout on the cards I feel.

    Typical Eagles!!!!

Explosive start, followed by a few FGs and then by the 4th quarter holding on to a slim lead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,169 ✭✭✭JohnnyRyan99

Watching the Eagles every week is worth it alone for the variation of dives Vick goes through when he rushes... Outstanding commitment to the no slide!

What was that:mad:, Vick doesn't look right at all, That hit to the leg seems to shook him badly...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,260 ✭✭✭Juwwi

l did le sean mccoy over 70.5 rushing yards.

If Vicks throws him the ball and he runs with it does that count aswell or is it just when hes passed the ball and then goes.

I should'nt be doing bets l dont understand the rules on realy

No it doesn't count, he has 39 rush yards at the moment.

I'd say its the second one, just when ball is handed off to him but dont take my word for it, would say the first are recorded as receiving yards

Well he has 86 rushing yards now so you are ok. If the ball is thrown forwards to him then it doesn't count for rushing yards. If the ball goes backwards to him or is handed off then it counts for rushing yards.

They're receiving yards, he still only has 42 rush yards.

Only 42 rushing yards, its 86 receiving.

    Bills at Vikings

Picked the Vikings but am getting torn over it.
Half thinking of selecting the Bills, I could see them win

Toughest pick for me anyway this week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,016 ✭✭✭Hulk Hands

The Vikings have a very thin recieving corp. Harvin has missed the last 3 pracrises due to migranes, Sidney Rice sat one out as a precaution due to his hip, and it looks as though Lewis and Berrian are both definetely out (may be no bad thing).

Theres even talk of playing rookie QB Joe Webb at WR. Even giving all that, i'd be disappointed if they cant beat the bills at home. I think the -5.5 spread is too steep to be siding with them though

Is Harvin having migraine trouble again? That blows. I thought I read earlier in the season they had gotten to the bottom of it. Guess not!
