Dell laptop vostro v13 + iphone bluetooth

    Hi guys

    Anyone know if the above should work? I get as far as pairing the devices but no further - just an exclamation mark in my laptop. Bluetooth on laptop works fine with other Bluetooth devices. Iphone 4 ver 4.0.1

    You'll only be able to pair them for tethering unless the laptop provides hands free calling or audio streaming capabilities.

    Hmmm ok - i don't think it's going to work for me so. Basically i have a 15 gb data allowance with a built in broadband o2 modem in my laptop. I have a 2gb allowance on my iphone and i find sometimes i get very close to the 2gb allowance. Basically i was hoping to use my laptop 15gb sometimes for iphone browsing. I know on most laptops during a bluetooth connection you can allow whatever device is being connected to the laptop to use the laptops internet. I guess what i'm trying to do is tethering still but in the reverse of what way its normally done

    If you set up internet sharing from your laptop over Wifi, you should be able to connect the iPhone to the laptop over Wifi. It would be a bit faster than Bluetooth too.
