    Hi,
I'm looking to get a set of Vredestein Quatrac 3 (185/65/R15) tyres fitted before Sunday. They are on eiretyres for €85.50 each so would be €100 each after fitting but these wouldn't get to me before Sunday. Camskill have them listed at about €65 each, but none in stock :( They are also on tyres-pneus-online.ie, but at €97 each

If anyone knows of any fitters in the greater Dublin area who stock them in this size and could fit/balance and the lot for around €100 each, please let me know :)

    Any feedback appreciated :)

Just managed to order 4 from D26 Tyres (wholesaler) in Monaghan through Sandyford Tyres (Dublin Distributor) for €90 each fitted and balanced. They will be dispatched today, but with the weather there's no guarantee I'll have them for Sunday, fingers crossed. So it's not always cheaper to buy online, plus I don't think there'd be any hope of getting them delivered from an online distributor tomorrow or Saturday.

D26 only had 7 left of that size, so only 3 left now.

Did a little video test in the car before and after getting the new tyres fitted for anyone interested. Bear in mind these are all season tyres (with snowflake symbol) so winter tyres should still be a bit better but it just goes to show what a difference tyres can make even just going 25kmph!

I got them fitted on Saturday, so 2 days after putting in the order (would usually be next day but there was an understandable delay). So much quicker and also cheaper than ordering online, also if anything goes wrong, I can just go back to the fitter as opposed to having to deal with sending back tyres etc so big plus to getting them fitted locally in this case!

    Which all seasons are they?
    EDIT:
My bad, I didnt realise the Quatracs were All Seasons
Im more then impressed with my snowflake all seasons (Hankook H730) since I got them last week. The basic traction you get from them over the Summers I had on is fantastic!

I haven't fully tested the all seasons but from the short distance I did drive, including the video above, they make a big difference. The difference between the summers in the first half of the video and then the winters I have on another Astra is amazing too.

Yep, they are Vredestein Quatrac 3's, one half of the tyre looks similar to the pattern of the winters and the other half looks more summery.

Nice movie! I have such a movie of me during a blizzard (last saturday) here in The Netherlands. Was no problem at all.

It has been very snowy for almost two weeks now. We are having a pauze now BTW. Next week, another prolonged frost period is expected. White christmas with -10 C (at day) is on the maps....Good to have these tires on my car!

Anyway: I have tested the Quatracs on icy snow of few cm's thick, during a blizzard with powder and snowdunes. Also on a dry road with -6 C during the day and -13 C in the morning on compacted snow.

The temperatures are important because even allseason tires have problems once you get near -15 C. The rubber gets hard. Not to mention summertires that have this problem from +7 C downwards.

I had to pick 'm up with -6 C on my summertires and had to drive 45 km. In the cities not all roads were treated. The summertires were simply awfull (and these were not worn down). Drove back with the allweather tires (Vredestein Quatrac 3). They were great on all surfaces mentioned. I had no problems at all. Winter is young. We can get huge dumps of snow even in march. Just one winter with the same amount of snow as the last two and tires with M+S and a snowflake+Mountain be forced by law over here I think....

All wintertires and allseasontires are very difficult to get. The Vredesteins were my second/third choice. But I am very happy with thm. I f I had the choice, the Hankook Optimo 4S would be the one I picked. They do even better in tests in general!
