Just wondering where I stood in a situation where I bought a milking cow at a mart, brought her home and tubed her with dry cow tubes and put her in shed with two other cows I was also drying off. On the second day noticed that the cow was bit off colour but was ok in the udder just felt if she was not 100% the following day would call the vet, the next day the cow was dead, just wondering anyone with any advice on where I stood, feel the cow must have been wrong when she was sold.

Was not sold as seen, felt at the time it was waste getting vet to do PM, asked the Knackery to tell me what caused death and did not hear any news yet but looking back on it now feel should have done PM to stand any chance , probably should just take it on the chin and learn from it.

has the cheque gone through, legally you dont know what she died of until a pm is done , so mightn't have a leg to stand on.... i lost 8 out of 10 animals i bought off a guy last year , did pm's on them all ( ragworth posioning ) i didnt buy in a mart though , maybe ring the mart

A little problem here. You said you bought a milking cow then you put dry cow tubes in her. Maybe you bought a cull cow (stripper ) If the latter is the case I think bought as seen is the case ?

The farmer was having a clearance of about forty cows, all the cows were milking.
