Boots for snow and ice?

I want to buy boots for winter and snow - proper boots women in cold countries wear (Canada, Poland, etc). I don't know what to look for. I will possible have to buy online as Irish shops are unlikely to sell specialist boots like these. Does anyone know any brand names, web sites etc?

I have nike boots similar to that magenta,purchased them in the nike outlet store in The Outlet in Banbridge for 50 pounds last Feb.
They're fantastic and very warm too !

They look really warm. Are they good for walking ie not slipping on ice etc?

me and mum bought these on sunday arrived today, lovely and comfy and great grip on the icey slushy stuff around our estate.

not very glamourous but they have kept my feet dry and warm the last few days while waiting for the snow boots to arrive
