    I'm going to New York on Friday and looking to find out where is the best place to get a Unlocked Iphone. Obviously not looking to buy one in the apple store. Has anybody had any trouble buying one in a 'discount electical store'. Also any idea how much i will pay for one

    My sister was there last week and was quoted $625, €199 if she signed a two yr contract, which obviously was pointless.

    All legitimate iPhone purchases in the US require a contract with AT&T. There's no way to buy an unlocked iPhone from any legitimate source there. If you're planning a trip up to Canada, that's a different story.

    guys, do a search PLEASE.
    this question is asked every single week over and over again.

    all genuine iPhones in NYC/USA require a 2 year contract with AT&T and you need to provide a social security number along with other relevant docs to get a bill pay contract..............................


    as saib above, Canada sell factory unlocked Phones.
