    Hi Guys,

Are you able to get your hands on the new Denon 1611 bluray players yet?
If so could you quote for one including deliver to the philips shop in Dublin?

    thanks
    Owen

    Hi John,

    Thanks for the fast responses.
Price seems very reasonable and I'll probably be ordering one in the next few weeks once I research it a bit more.

    Just a couple of q's:

What is the blu-ray loading time like compared to the current Sonys?

Can you confirm that it plays SACDs?

    regards
    Owen

    Hi John,

My brother was looking through the AV deals thread and is thinking of upgrading his system too.

What's the best price you can for the following:
    • Denon AVR-1911 receiver
    • Monitor Audio Bronze BX2 front speakers
    • Monitor Audio Bronze BX centre speaker

plus the Denon DBP-1611 bluray player and delivery to Dublin

    Many thanks,
    Owen

Owen apologies for the delay getting back to you.

Its called the DBP1611UD - the UD bit means 'Universal Disc' which means it plays everything!

(However my 7" vinyl sounds a bit funny and appear to be stuck in the drawer )

On the disc loading time for BR - it's really seriously quick especially given that it has to sort out which laser to use - in quality terms - I would not even mention it in the ssame sentence as the Sony - however to be fair it is more expensive!

    Keep me posted,

    Hi John

Thanks for the update. That player is ticking all the right boxes.
Looks like the old Val Doonican 78's will be staying in the attic! :D

Will get back to you with a firm order very soon.

Some old crooner from the late 1800s :D

OK can you reserve all that gear for me?
    • Denon AVR-1911
    • Denon DBP-1611UD
    • Monitor Audio BX2s
    • Monitor Audio BX Centre
I'll ring next Friday to complete the order.

What's the normal delivery time to Dublin, weather permitting?

Hopefully I'll be able to get out of the driveway this side of Christmas to collect!

EDIT: Are the speakers available in Walnut finish and the Denon stuff in black?

    Owen,

Many thanks for the order - and yep we do have the BX 2 & the BR LCR available in Walnut so I have popped that whole order aside for you.

Could you just PM me a contact number so I can pop that on your account?

Thanks again - the Biz is much appreciated,

Big thankyou to John and the lads in RS. got a very nice surprise yesterday when, instead of getting a call from the Philips shop to collect, an (irate) DPD courier turned up with my order! Very impressed with the bronze bx2s, I may have to get some for myself. :-)

    Many thanks indeed!

    Hi Owen.

Cheers for the update and apologies for the Irate driver.

They don't tend to like this time of year, especially when we just keep loading their vans up with more work. :)

We hope you enjoy the gear and keep us posted if you need anything else or any assistance.

    ATB
