Avira's free and not bad, AVG's free and used to be better, and if you have a legitimate copy of windows, Microsoft Security Essentials is free and excellent according to various reviews.

Meant to say at the end - 'this won't be for everyone'

Also its a little more than just an Antivirus - Firewall, Malware, Adware, Internet Security etc etc etc

There's nothing that package does that can't be achieved with good, free software like Spybot, Adaware, ZoneAlarm firewall, etc.
