Not sure what his first name is, but someone called Andrews got heckled a little when Kenny asked him about FF and he started waffling about "putting the taxpayer first", he came out with more waffle about "this type of environment" and then said that.....

"there are enough common sense people around" to evaluate things properly!!!

Unbelieveable arrogance!!!! Actually implying that anyone who objects to what his party represents and has done doesn't have "common sense"

We need these contemptuous rats out now!!!!!

It's Barry. Unfortunately I fell asleep during it (stupid depression/chest cold combination) so can't comment on the interview. :(

Woke up in time for Richard Boyd Barrett. Man, this world hates me! :pac:

Andrews is just another scapegoat being thrown into the lions den
If the brainless Brians had any balls, they'd go on these programmes themselves

He asked a perfectly reasonable question tbh.

I thought it was bizarre that he should come on defending the Government ... THEN his brother David Andrews (Macsavage) comes on ridiculing the Government in a sketch...

Minister for Breathlessness to convey sincerity

Talk about summing a persons character, Deadly.

Wat Andrews said is of course the party line, just like Cowen saying he'll lead them into the next election. Fat chance.

Politics needs to be cleaned out completely and imo parties like FF&FG need to be finished up despite the history that has gone before them. Is this a bit outhere? The FF& FG of the present do not represent the ideals of which these parties were started upon.

What or how did you expect him to answer a pointless question, like that? And could you point me to an example anywhere in the world of politicians 'owning up' to failure, while in office?'

Did you even bother to read the point before flying to FF's defence ?

I didn't object to his answer to Kenny's question; I objected to his condescending and bull**** answer about "common sense people", showing up FF's contempt for reasonable, informed people by writing off anyone who disagrees with them as somehow an uninformed, uneducated "dummy" with no common sense.

Did you listen to him define what he thought 'common sense' was first? Or where you too busy firing up your Boards indignation scooter?...lol
It's expecting anything else but BS out of a politician's mouth that is nonsensical.

Why would I listen to a government redefinition of an existing word or phrase ?

    "bailout"
    "cheapest"
    "common sense"
    "expenses"
    "mandate"
    "reasonable length of time"
    "corruption"

I know what those words mean, so I don't require some condescending FF asshole to redefine them in order suit his own agenda.

Fair point on that, I guess. But it doesn't stop me highlighting the crap that comes out of their mouths.......mind you, since I'm likely to post here to highlight every lie and twist that comes out of an FF mouth these days, maybe I should apologise in advance for boards being so slow.

Mark Coleman seemed to sum it up very well. Best contribution of the night. Pity the row between him and the bloke (Civil Servant, I presume) in the audience was cut short. Mark was about to elaborate on why the CPD should be torn up. I'd tend to agree with him.

The 2 of them were gobsh1tes...Andrews and hayes...

This is the problem... Listening to them does not restore any faith for me. Brian Hayes is a dreamer. He really thinks we believe he could do better.

Dont get me wrong he will get the chance but i see labout being blamed for a lot...

Brian Hayes is the FG representative in my constituency, where would your vote go between him and Pat Rabbitte?

I quite enjoyed him telling Pat that with a bit of hindsight, everyone has suddenly become an expert on what should have been done two years ago.

He quite literally just dismissed and didn't really answer anything put to him. When one of the panel brought up something from 2 years ago, his reply was simply "Ah, we're talking about 2008 now"

    Unbelievable.

He's from a dynasty family - so arrogance and a sense of entitlement is to be expected straight away.

All of these families need to be gone away from Irish politics.

poor Barry got stick from the proles, how dare they jeer and heckle their betters!!

These dynasty Fianna Fail familys have deprived generations of bright young potential TDs from even getting a party ticket. A vote for a family name insure your kids never get to serve in the Dail

Well what the hell were these bright young potential TD's doing in a party such as that if their chances of advancement were so blatantly being blocked??? Think about what you post maybe.

Ralax Liam, i watched this in the pub with two mates and we would all be vehementley anti Fianna Fail but it was a stupid question for PK to ask. What answer could he expect a govt spokesman to give. Yes, he sounded arrogant and condascending but what would you expect??? Ranting about this is wasting your breath imo.

i know brian hayes is fine gael. The problem is it will be a FG/LB Govt and labour will do all the talking while FG do all the dreaming.

I disagree. I think that FG have a good chance of doing things right, they just need the chance. Granted they're not perfect, but its better than the rest of whats out there, not to mention the looney leftwing alliance

I dont think there will ever be a good government in Ireland. Irish people by their nature are crap at managing their country well unless we snap out of that "ah sure it'll be grand" attitude to everything. I dont think there is any choice other than FG this time round.

As I think I said earlier, my objection has no relation to Kenny's question or to Andrew's right to spout the stock FF "I don't accept that".

What I objected to was the arrogant and deluded inference that those who despise FF have no "common sense", especially considering it's the ones with no common sense that are more likely to vote for Andrews & Co because they're "core" support who wouldn't evaluate the facts even if FF were disbanded.

Yeah i thought he was impressive too. He has the sort of intelligence we need in politics in this country.

And i say that as someone who doesn't want the CPD torn up.

Any excuse to forgive them for you
Loads of family's voted FF religiously. These family names got the ticket the popular vote from people like you and the party funding. The bright young people are bright enough to know a young nobody wont get elected in the face on the FF machine around Ireland.
I'm sick of people telling me nobody was out there that could do the job except FF. Maybe the more of you guys who emigrate like your FF master want the better?
