Dell Laptop - Battery Needs to be Replaced - Warning

    Hi,

    I have a Dell Vostro 1510, its 2/3 years old I think.

When I turn it on I keep getting a warning saying battery needs to be replaced.

I must admit that the battery life is a lot lower than what it used to be.

Can people recommend where to get a battery for this particular laptop and what price I am looking at paying for a new battery.

    Thanks in advance

My Dell Vostro 1500 is the exact same. It's about 3.5 years old. As soon as I disconnect it from the power supply the battery won't even last 30 seconds before the computer turns off. Its been like this for about a month now.

I don't know what to do!

Best bet seems to be buying direct from Dell. Although they're a ripoff it must be said that they're the only batteries that won't cause all sorts of alarm bells to go off when connected.

Bought a battery on ebay a few months back for my Inspiron 9400 - BIOS automatically detected it as a non OEM battery and told me that it will not charge. It did power the laptop but wasn't much use after it drained completely.

    hi

I have a dell vostro 1500 too and had the same problem with my dell battery. Dell were charging me 120 euro  for a 9 cell battery so i searched amazon.co.uk for a similar battery and got one for £45 :D. not a dell branded one though. I have my new battery since the summer and i get 2-3hrs work from it. hope this helps

ps the laptop accepted the new battery without any problems either
