Tax changes in the 4 year plan / budget

    Apparently, the tax increases in the budget and 4 year plan will be teh widening of rate bands and reduction in tax credits....if so this means that someone on €38k will pay same amount of EXTRA tax as someone on €300k...so an office worker pays same extra tax as a hospital consultant including his private practice???

    If this is correct the Irish people should be ashamed of themselves for allowing ths to happen !!

    Depends on what you mean by extra...

    Will their increase in tax be the same? Maybe, if the bands are just lowered (it will depend on their circumstances... married/single and credits etc)..
    Will they be paying anywhere near the same amounts of tax? Of course not, someone on 300K can pay far more tax than someone on 38K.
