    LOL Blue - that's class !

I see your car in Column, in 13 New Street West !

And, do you see the ad for the Suzuki bike, further down ? Tenders to the Customs !! Ha! Some poor bastard had it seized on him !!

And here we are, 31 years later, still saddled with VRT !! Some things never change !!

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

"Taxi plate" - what were these like? I don't remember a time before the big plastic roof signs that they use nowadays (they were around in the late '80s IIRC, where they new then?). :o

Someone advertising a 1977 Lancia Beta coupe as being in perfect condition. It had been through 3 Irish winters (and summers! :pac: )

I bought a print at an auction some months ago. On the back it had been sealed up with pages from an old magazine. To my surprise the mag was a car one of some description. There was an article abouthow to alter the back lights of a 37 Austin cambridge, to give better lights but still show the number plate.

Also there was a report from a local court (UK) where a cafe owner lost his licence for a year for carrying a large bottle of Fruit Juice from the Cash and Carry to his cafe without having insurance for carrying goods. At the same court a fellow who knocked down and killed a pedestrian got fined !!!

Last year, for about a week, The Irish Times allowed you to look up their archives for free. I had an absolute field day on it.
