Hi Guys,As the title suggests I just want to know are there any issues with running my central heating at the same time as the back boiler? when I put on an open fire and the cylinder gets up to temperature the pump for the back boiler turns on.The problem is that it only really heats the upstairs rads to a decent heat, the downstairs rads only get luke warm.If however I turn on my OFCH if only for a few minutes it seems to pump the already hot water downstairs. I just want to know are there any issues with running the 2 circulating pumps at the same time?

Hi we would have a fire on all day its an open fire with back boiler as you have said it would only fully heat a few rads. I turn oil on a number of times throughout the day, rads are quicker to heat than when there is no fire on. This would be common practice in a lot of homes so I dont know if I have misunderstood your question. Basically I am saying that it is ok to have fire and oil heating on at the same time.
