booking a wedding

hi all i'm booking my wedding for 2012 and just want to get hotel, church and band out of the way so i can relax for a while!!! i was wondering how much id have to budget to book my wedding ie...hotel, church and band, some help would be appreciated

Honestly, only you can answer that ... it is impossible to tell you how much to budget unless you know yourself what kind of a wedding you want.

Big / small
Luxury 5 star / less stars
Big band + DJ / small band + DJ / DJ only
Local church or church where you aren't a parish-member

To book things, what we paid:

1000 deposit to hotel
300 to band (this includes DJ)
500 to photographer
half the price of wedding dress to shop
50 to florist

Hope this helps! We could have put deposits on the rings etc, but we paid them outright.

Oh P.S. If you need to do the pre-marriage course get that out of the way ASAP, you will run out of weekends closer to the wedding and its a couple of euro that will be paid off early!

But yah, you should think about what kind of a wedding you want first.

emarfrog posted there that they had to pay €1,000 deposit to hotels but I know that some hotels ask for €3,000 deposit or even €5,000 so if you could tell us first what kind of a wedding you want, we could help give ya a better idea, etc. ...
