kodak pics 243.JPG look what i saw thismorning trying his best to get into my fezy pen.

looked out kitchen window at about 9, and saw him running around the
pen lookin 4 the smallest hole to get in. the birds where panicked, and he was in a frenzy tryin to catch them through the wire.
i ran to the gun room, fumbled round looking for the safe key and grabed the shotty, two no. 6 shells a pair of slippers and ran out into the snow with just a t shirt on. (-3 out)
by the time i got round there was no sign of him, and i thought he,d saw me and legged it. but 30 sec,s later he ran out from behind the pen, still trying his best to get in.
still a good 50m away a walked closer and he stopped, looked at me and made a run for a pallet 4 feet away. i took a shot and he ran on under the pallet. as i got closer, i knew he must have been under it, so i went between the pallet and the ditch hoping he,d make a run out into the field so i,d get a shot at him. i lifted the pallet with 1 hand, shotty in other but to my supprise, there he was, dead under the pallet. id hit him after all.:D

What traps do you recommend for mink the live catch traps or the fenn traps. I have not trapped the local river but plan on starting in the spring. I have never seen a mink along the river and did have a release pen sited quite close to it a few years back with no losses to mink. Have I been lucky or is there the possibility that the river is mink free? (southeast area)

I bought 2 of the live catch traps 3 weeks ago and have got 5 mink already and havent had the traps out all that much. I often went down to the river and caught a fish and threw it in the trap or even buy fish,,(mackeral seem to be affetive i hear). I really doubt the river is mink free,,defiently do no harm having a trap along it,youd never know and so it soon so as you may not regret loosing pheasants!
